"Software writing experts"  would tend to have good documentation,
makefiles, etc., and would favor solutions that don't depend on hardware or
software platforms. Or would you rather have software from inexperienced
authors?

It's a lot of work to make binaries for every platform, and keep it up to
date. Unless its something generic, like compilers or interpreters, usually
only a few binaries are available (or 1, or none at all).

The world seems to be moving toward the "I want it now" attitude, and
businesses have led and/or pushed us there (e.g., video on demand,
podcasts). I challenge you to actually learn how to solve your problem, and
then share it with the rest of us. If you want a Windoze binary for the
masses to instantly download and use, make it a present to yourself. Then
give it back to the community.
