Thanks for the help. I had googled around a bit and already hacked on the ppd
file to default to duplex. The info on setting values for ppd variables via
lpadmin is useful, thanks for the pointer.
I guess I was a bit naive and assumed that somewhere there would be a GUI with
a nice check box to enable Duplex;-) It would also be nice if the various
tools that you print from (adobe, firefox, etc.) the grayed out print menus to
select two sided printing (or not) would actually work. I now have the
printer working well with in duplex mode with opensolaris and it seems like a
nice little multifunction unit for only $230.
