Hi,

This information is documented in the system administration guide on d.s.c.,
in the administering printers chapter. I've included a pointer.

http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2380/printadmin-15883?a=view

Note that starting with the SXDE 1/08 release,
a new Solaris printing guide will be published to d.s.c.
The new book includes updated information, including using IPP,
sharing printers, administering printers that use PPD files, using
the ppdmgr tool, and a desktop printing chapter that
covers using the device discovery feature in Solaris Nevada.

If you use the docs, feel free to report any inaccuracies and make
suggestions
for improvement.

Thanks,

Nita
