My examples meant to communicate that ER Depts often release to the media more than the Hipaa "facility directory" information. Unless someone can point to a specific section in the regs, it appears to me that the examples mentioned will no longer be acceptable. That information released to the media from an ER Dept will have to be the same as the facility directory (unless authorization has been given).
