Tim,

While I cannot disagree with you on how good the classes are that those 
organizations offer, I would like to ask who has certified or accredited 
these so-called "certification providers" regarding the HIPAA regulations?

Maybe I am wrong but there seems something "fishy" with 
individuals/companies who call themselves HIPAA certified or can make you 
HIPAA certified.  Wouldn't the certified status need to come from CMS or 
similar organization?  About a year ago there was a consulting company (the 
name of the co. escapes me) that called there consultants HIPAA certified 
because they gave them a 4 hour class and made them pass a 20 question test 
regarding the HIPAA regulations.

I have also heard that there is a certification standards body that may be 
formed but until then I don't see a "true" HIPAA Certified Status being 
offered at this time.
