Tim, While I cannot disagree with you on how good the classes are that those organizations offer, I would like to ask who has certified or accredited these so-called "certification providers" regarding the HIPAA regulations?
Maybe I am wrong but there seems something "fishy" with individuals/companies who call themselves HIPAA certified or can make you HIPAA certified. Wouldn't the certified status need to come from CMS or similar organization? About a year ago there was a consulting company (the name of the co. escapes me) that called there consultants HIPAA certified because they gave them a 4 hour class and made them pass a 20 question test regarding the HIPAA regulations. I have also heard that there is a certification standards body that may be formed but until then I don't see a "true" HIPAA Certified Status being offered at this time.
