Well... I can't quite believe I've found this list! Such an odd question, but seems like this might be the place to ask it.
I am the programme leader for HND Music Performance at Stevenson College Edinburgh. We have an excellent guitarist who is blind, but has enough vision to use Supernova on a Windows laptop. At the moment our college is using Cubase SX and Sibelius on the PC, but next year we are going to run Logic Pro and Sibelius on Macs. And, right now we have a decent chunk of money to buy him a laptop for music. One idea is to buy him a MacBook now, BootCamp it and install Windows XP, Supernova, Cubase and Sibelius; basically, just use it as a Windows laptop for this year. Next year, he then has the option of either carrying on with the same software into the second year of his course, or switching to Mac as appropriate. First question has got to be, will it work? That is, Supernova on a Mac running XP. I emailed Dophin, who make Supernova, and they kind of said, interesting, but they wouldn't 'support' it. Anyone tried this? Looking forward from that... how good are the accessible technologies for vision on the mac, actually? In conjuction with Logic Pro? TIA, -- J.
