David, Do not on any account try to take your printer apart, the print head alignment is very precise and you probably will not align it correctly when you rebuilt the printer.
My degree is in engineering (why now am I a photographer?) and it took me a day of test/rebuild/test again before I got it right. I would go with Neil's method of cleaning on this but instead I use Blotting paper and lighter fluid. Put the fluid on 2/3 of the paper and feed the dry end into the printer. You may need several sheets of paper, but it does work. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
