I would like to know too! I have a feeling the answer you will get is to
create an action. Stock answer until Adobe pull their finger out and provide
a customisable shortcuts palette. At the rate they're rushing to provide
such a basic , simple feature, expect it sometime in the next century! <G>
It should've been in version 5 if not 6 but not to include it in version 7
was just mean.

Has anyone spotted that the Quick Reference card has two E's in the Layer
palette section pointing to the two F icons as if they were one? I once
spent a fruitless 10 minutes trying to Opt-click or Opt-drag the F icon on
the layers tile only to find they're referring not to the F icon in the
layer tile but the F icon in the effects tiles! Yet both of them are
labelled E. Even though the icons look exactly the same, they do not behave
the same. As you will learn if you try and...I think that's where I came in.
