The sudden rush of introductions from lurkers has made me feel very guilty for the lack of mine.

But I have a good excuse -- honest -- which will become clear.

My name is Andy Warwick and I am a sole trader working as Creed New Media Design. I've been in the graphic arts since leaving 6th form (and dropping out of art college) in 87/88. Then it was cow gum, process cameras and photo retouching with an airbrush and process white. After moving though various editorial and artworking jobs, at numerous agencies, I ended up drifting more into the technical end of graphics, multimedia and web design.

Upon the breakup of my marriage, and after being head-hunted by a certain list-member from Nottingham called Karl Dankbars, I spent a couple of years out of the stressful agency life in the relatively idyllic and peaceful surroundings of a digital photographers. Over the next couple of years, in what was meant to be a role playing to my graphic design and web design strengths, I found myself doing more and more photo-retouching and picking up a more-than-passing knowledge of photography. During my stint at Unit 5 I would often have interesting postings in prodig bought to my attention, so I 'lurked-by-proxy' long before I ever joined the list.

Fast forward a couple of years, and with personal life sorted out to a manageable degree, it was time to move on. Upon leaving Unit 5 to concentrate on what I had originally intended to do (web design), I found myself with another competitive string to my bow. While I can't take great pictures, nor understand the minutiae of f-stops, lenses and camera backs, I can retouch with the best of them and 'fix a lot of stuff in post'. I still do retouching for Karl when he's snowed under, as well as offering technical support when he's battling with tech issues. My strengths are the technical side of computers, multimedia, and web design, with a particular emphasis on accessibility.

Having worked in numerous agency environments, in both managerial positions and at the pointy end of the studio, as well as a digital photographers, and now my own business, I often find myself as middle man, translating jargon between all the separate people in the supply chain.

Of course, having left U5, I also found myself missing Prodig, so have joined under my own banner. What never occurred, of course, is that under my own name I owed an introduction.

So there you have it.
