Well, you can do that in OS X without a problem. I suspect what the poster
is referring to is getting blocks of the image left un-refreshed when you
move the image in the window too quickly. If that's the case, dragging
slowly will help in the absence of a faster video card. Possibly updating
the video card drivers may help too. You could also try Use Pixel Doubling
in the preferences under Display & Cursors. It may help.
