Hi Sam,

I don't know if this helps (it won't if you're a Mac user) but I have a
software product I wrote called FotoPrep that reduces image size
proportionally (and quality) (and also renames files and allows you to place
a text overlay on an image) as a batch process. Each task can be completed
stand-alone or you can enable all of them simultaneously.

It only works on JPEG formats and is a Windows app. You can download a
trial version from http://www.mgis.uk.com/cgi-bin/mgisdown.exe?Trial. Latest
released version is 1.2 but I have a newer version pending which provides
for folder recursion.

HTH

Mike
