I have this scheduled to back my whole working drive up at 3.30 am each night to a spare drive. You can set up daily, weekly and monthly backups. It will create a bootable copy, no problem. All you have to make sure to do is to switch off Journaling on the target drive, otherwise you will get a Kernel Panic.
The developer was kind enough to give me the latest version, V2, which will be out soon. This is even more flexible.
