[PRODIG] PS7 replaces PS5.0.2

This is probably naive verging on dumb, for which I beg the list's indulgence, but now I've upgraded (yesterday) to PS7 am I free to delete PS5 on my G4? I expected it to be sort of replaced automatically by the new version, but apparently not. Will un-installing the old version have any deleterious effects?
BTW delighted with e.g. the File Browser, Healing Brush, Patch tool - used them to good effect already.
