According to Michael Reichmann @ Luminous Landscape (a respected web site) the two best settings for your average Epson printer, are 240dpi and 360dpi. It has something to do with dividing the max resolution of the printer, I can't remember the details. The conclusion he made after many tests was to use 360 if you can, but 240 would be fine if not.
