I've searched the archive, but couldnt find anything relating to my
particular problem.

It's the first time I've printed A3 on my Epson 1160 and there is what
appears to be some kind of pressure mark, presumably from a roller that is
outside the A4 area (which is why I hadn't seen it before. I'm printing on
Lyson smooth fine art with Fotonic inks. Depending on what angle I hold the
print I can see a thin (1mm thick?) line running vertically through the
print that is only visible in the dark areas. Almost as if that part of the
matte paper has become 'glossier'; had it's surface pushed down to make it
smoother and therefore reflective.

I've been peering into the printer with a torch. I knew this wouldn't help
but I felt I should try and do something. If someone has any more
constructive advice, I would be very grateful.

Regards

Richard Lewisohn.

P.S. This is a somewhat embarrassing extra question, but is it true that no
increase in quality will be seen on an inkjet printer if the printed file's
resolution is more that 240dpi?
