Thanks all, I've been using Quark for eons now so while changing to indesign would make loads of sense if I was starting out since as you say Neil, it does it all out of the box, thing is when I started out, so did Quark!
I really just wanted my positionals to be closer to the file colour so it didn't freak editors out! (they're easily frightened) Thanks for the advice all.
