Hmmm...that doesn't square with what's on the Dpreview site and what Fuji
have to say:

" Fuji Photo Film (UK) Ltd today announced that a small number of FinePix S2
Pro digital cameras recently sold in the UK may be subject to a possible
power supply 'lock-up' that could render the camera inoperable. The number
of affected products sold to UK customers is estimated to be roughly 20
(twenty)."

Twenty hardly translates to thousands...the person you spoke to doesn't seem
to know his/her facts.

Since they are aware of the problem AND you've approached them to fix it, I
would've thought they're liable for any loss you incur if and when the power
does fail. I'm no lawyer but you should be able to invoice them for lost
days, model fees, travel, hotel, airfare, loss of face :-)
