As far as I know, the PDF save option is hard wired into Photoshop. Is your
"friend" looking for PDF rather than Photoshop PDF in the DB?
Settings can be saved. Also, you can always reinstall into a different
folder or onto a different drive after saving or renaming the prefs to see
if the problem is duplicated.
