Dear Stephen,
Does it call itself HAL :)
Be very careful,

My Mac (G4 / OSX 10.2.2) when put to sleep has decided that it is
going to
"wake itself" and I have come back to find it out of sleep mode and
in
"normal" switched on and functioning mode. I noticed this after I
had put it
to sleep and about 4 minutes later it started up which made me
think when I
got up the other day and it was on that I had actually put it to
sleep as I
thought and had not just forgotten to do it as I concluded was the
case at
the time.
Another thing has happened recently and that is that it has decided
to dial
up the internet by itself. No application has been running that
might prompt
it to dial up but it will try and try for a while and then not bother
anymore (I have software update set to manual check).
Are these things linked? I cannot think of anything I have done
recently to
prompt this apart from download and try the beta version of safari,
trying
it on the web a few times.
