The question of calibrating dual monitors is one that I have asked here
in the past. The answer is that at this moment there is no solution
available for anyone using a single graphics card. Windows cannot
support two profiles for one card, whatever software one uses. What I
do have not got a conclusive answer to is whether it is currently
possible to have the monitors on separate graphic cards and both
profiled. Certainly Optical does not allow it and but I believe a high
end version of GM's EyeOne may do. I am working to get an answer on this
at the moment as I also have the pleasure of working on two monitors.

On the question of Spyder / Optical: At this moment, I have both the
Spyder and the EyeOne monitor ( anyone want to by a CRT Spyder with
Optical? Replies off list). The Spyder is a good tool (although I did
have to go through 3 to get a good one) and a recent book I have
completed proves its accuracy. However, I did have some question marks
for a while, which is why I purchased the EyeOne. The latter is more
accurate and I am very happy to have bought it, but for someone starting
out, there is a substantial price difference. The i1 is certainly worth
the extra, but if you can only afford the Spyder, it will get you 95% of
the way for half the cost.
