Anybody tried it with the S2,or know if this software will preclude my having to buy the Fuji EX Converter at extra cost? Are there any other options?
The Camera Raw plug-in works fine for the S2... it just doesn't do the up-res interpolation that the Fuji software does for its highest quality setting (this basically takes the native capture of 3024x2016 and delivers a 4256x2848 file) Fuji claims higher quality this way than simply re-sizing in Photoshop due to the unique offset grid nature of their chip and the color interpolating that occurs in raw file processing. In practice, I don't see a noticeable difference and the Adobe plug-in is MUCH faster, easier to use, can be turned into an action and batch processed in Photoshop and the image quality is superb! I'm not convinced that there is any real advantage to the FUJI EX Converter.
