Hi John, Well, as you know, I have used Lyson media for some time now and I think I will always be a fan - I have the inks/stocks extremely well tamed and I love the colour accuracy that they provide under a range of light sources. However the longevity is an issue with dye-based inks - they're a bit on the lean side, although they do surpass certain analogue media such as C-Types. I personally don't want to venture near pigment inks as the colour shifts, to me, simply are not good enough. What is the point in having the longevity but not the colour accuracy under differing light sources? Why spend hundreds (at least) on profiling to have it all totally undone at the last hurdle? So, to answer your question John, I would like the best of both worlds which is why I have an Epson 9600 arriving next week. Awesome outputs form the Ultrachrome inks, greater longevity and neither dye nor pigment-based but in a class of their own. Don't worry though, my 1160s carrying Fotonic ink are not being de-commissioned - they are having a whole new set of fresh profiles made over the coming weeks!
