David If the white dot appears in the same place on every frame I'd say you have a dead or inoperative ccd/pixel. The colour banding is something I also suffer from using a D1. It occurs when you have a dark area bordering a white area. Shooting a lot of clothes is it most prevalent when we have a black fabric against white background. Unfortunately it just seems to be one of the minor disadvantages of shooting digitally
