Hello Caroline, Paul,

The first thing I did was to look at the rollers but I couldn't find any
trace of ink on them. I think it's time to buy some cleaning foam as a
standby, though...

I left the printer on in case it made a difference. Just before printing
again, I pulled the plug on it and then turned it back on (clutching at
straws). And would you adam&eve it, the problem disappeared!

Oh, well...thanks for your help...back to lurking...
