While I agree with your point, although 10.1.5 is as high as 10.1 goes and I know the move to 10.2 has not been smooth for many, which is one of the reasons I've avoided it.
It was smooth for me; I don't remember hearing about anything drastic at the time, although there were, I'm sure, a few glitches. But from what I hear, the move to 10.2.4 is a bit hairier...
However, I had the same problem trying to install under OS9.2.2 and OS9.1 as well although both of these platforms are supposed to be acceptable according to the install requirements as stated by Adobe.
Ah, that was why I said 'I'm not really sure' in my original post. I don't have the Adobe download and wasn't sure if it was meant to be used under OS 9.
My main enquiry was whether this was a problem anyone else had had before I go down the route of re-installing P/shop, OSX etc or maybe I'm got a duff download.
Sorry I can't be more help. Have you tried the obvious OS 9 things like rebuilding the Desktop? If the Desktop DB is hosed, the installer might have a job finding Photoshop. And I guess, in OS X, you've tried restarting? Hope you get it sorted, anyway.
