I'm completely up to date with 10.2.4 & have had a number of problems installing 7.0.1 - the installer would either quit saying it was unable to complete the upgrade because of an error, or that that it could not find a valid copy of Photoshop (though there was a 100% legal copy there - I even reinstalled it). Eventually I had to update a copy of Photoshop on another drive & copy it over to my main drive.

I was worried that installing the RAW viewer would fail for the same reason. Maybe this approach would work with it too?

While I agree with your point, although 10.1.5 is as high as 10.1 goes and I
know the move to 10.2 has not been smooth for many, which is one of the
reasons I've avoided it.
