I am trying to print a black and white series for an exhibition, at a size of at least 24" on the smallest edge, possibly a bit larger.
The pictures have large areas of black in them. The problem I have is that I cannot achieve a strong dense black at the size I require. I have had partial successes: Olmec or Colorlife papers printed on the 1160 have produced excellent deep blacks, (although archival issues are raised) but the same papers printed on a 7600 have weak charcoaley blacks. I believe that this is because the inks are pigment based in the 7600. (would the 7000 be different?) I felt the same about lamda paper as well; that it had weak blacks. Can any one suggest a printer or any other method that could print ultra strong blacks in photographs at at least 24" width? many thanks Alan Mahon =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
