Lost the original post... but thought I'd interject that any decision on a new back needs to include all the features available on the market.

PhaseOne makes a good back, and the software is easy to use and provides a great image 'out of the box', but it lacks some features that we found to be important for studio use. Things like live video focussing, the ability to do a four shot capture, both have become staples in our studio use on a daily basis.

For the shooter who uses his back primarily on location, or shooting moving subjects, perhaps these would not be considerations. We thought it best to have a back that allowed for both possibilities , so the eyelike has been our choice. It does it all. So do the Imacon and Sinar backs.

Have you seen the new Eyelike software, with the three-point
focusing=sharpness indicator?
