A friend of mine has an Epson 7600 printer and has been told that she should set the dpi of the image she is printing in Photoshop to 360. She has been told to set the printer's dpi at 360 as well.
I only have a humble 1160, which I set to 240dpi. I also understand (from Neil B) that 180dpi works well also. Does this also hold true for the 7600? She is making very big prints from 1Ds files, so a lesser dpi would be preferable. Would the 'lack of dots' be worse than the (fairly visible at 30"x40") artifacts visible due to having to increase the file size so much. Equally I set my printer to 1440dpi. She was told that 360dpi for her printer is just as good. Can this be right? Any help gratefully received.
