Good evening group,

I have profiles for output, that can be used as soft-proof profiles. They
are in RGB, as the output device is a wide format inkjet printer. The thing
that I have difficulty understanding is why, if this printer uses CMYK inks,
the softproof profile should be in RGB. Is there a simple explanation for
this? I know that if I viewed the document in CMYK it would not have the
gamut that it will have when printed. The files are being sent to the RIP in
RGB, of course. This question is just so that I can try to understand the
reason.

Thanks

Ellie
