I would agree with that Jason - I spoke to the Inland Revenue today & the
inspector was fairly clear about it - a digital BACK e.g. Imacon, Phase One,
etc did qualify because they needed both a camera strapping to the front & a
computer strapping to the back - on their own they cannot do much at all. He
categorically stated that he would not allow a 35mm DSLR to qualify.
He did say that I should include a 2 paragraph description with my tax
return highlighting why I thought it qualified for 100% FYA & any other
helpful information.
Not definitive, but at least it fitted with their guidelines on their
website.
