For those Mac listees who may have missed my tip in the latest MacUser, here is a tidbit. I had hoped to win the Bluetooth adapter, but I should have realised that they tend to reserve the Star letter for well written gripes.
I really miss the list of open applications that were available from App Switcher, the menu on the far right of the MacOS9.x menu bar, and especially the tear-off menu of icons.
By pure chance I was in Classic and went to the menu, and lo, not only were all the Classic applications listed, but all the MacOS X apps as well. Shame I cannot have the tear-off!
So, keeping say Stickies or any small Classic app accessible on the desktop that you can click to invoke Classic (denoted by the change to a coloured Apple), and the righthand menu will allow you to easily bring the MacOS X open item you need to the fore - this is often far quicker than the Dock.
I hope that Apple will put the functionality of App Switcher back, but while I still have to have Classic at least here is one feature I have not lost completely.
I hope someone finds this snippet useful.
