Hi all

With all this talk of dodgy CD's and data loss I have been reviewing my
back-up and recovery options. I have an old Mac PowerPC 7300/166 which
although not in use at the moment is still working fine and I also have a
spare maxtor 40gig IDE drive gathering dust in a cupboard. I thought this
would make an ideal back-up drive for my laptop. I have an ethernet network
in place already.

My question is, is it just a case of installing a ATA PCI card in the 7300
to attach the IDE drive to? Will the 7300 (running OS8.6) recognise a disk
of that size? Any other issues I should be aware of like is it still poss to
get PCI cards for the older Mac?

Also I'm looking for a small monitor to use with the 7300, and I mean small,
12" or 14" if poss. If anyone has one they don't need any more I'd be very
interested.

Thanks all you your help.

Regards
