Hi

Firstly, upgrade to 10.2.4 It appears to be pretty stable for most people.

Secondly, stop using Norton. I've read nothing but bad news re: Norton and
OSX. There appears to be no good reason for using it. Check MacFixIt for
more details. What exactly are you wanting to do in Norton? There are no
doubt other programs that will do it better. DiskWarrior for one.

Thirdly, you can't make a start-up disk. As far as I know, Apple will not
allow any manufacturer of software to make an OSX start-up disk. Not even
the Number One product DiskWarrior is allowed to do this. However, I think
DiskWarrior has been allowed (in the last couple of weeks) to build a disk
which will boot directly into a pseudo OSX, rather than booting into OS9 as
in previous versions. However it is not a true OSX system, only one that
looks like it. Apple do not want anyone to be able to create their own OSX
system, as that would allow programmers to alter the base system. Altering
this base system would make OSX unstable. If you haven't noticed yet, OSX is
currently extremely stable, and I for one would like it to remain so.
