HI all, I am still busy scanning and filing images to my agencies who are asking for 50mb TIFFs.
I am dutifully producing the requested files size, but am now officially bored of burning cd after cd with images (11 or 12 per CD). I know that there might be clever options - like a portable HDD or some such which would be "reusable". So I have 2 q's... 1) Does any one have experience of a portable HD which might survive courier post etc, thus allowing me to send in one disc with "n" x 50mb tiff files on it. (My assumption here is that this would be a total no no... possible disc damage from handling etc etc) 2) Do I really have to save as TIFFs? Can I get away with squishing the files as big JPEG's? A max compression JPEG of a 50mb tiff gives me a 15mb file. Much handier. Am I really jeopardising image quality? I have done "tests" and I am B*****ed if I can see the difference in the files. I will of course bow to the mighty knowledge of the forum, but it would be nice to find an acceptable solution to all those CD's...
