1) Does any one have experience of a portable HD which might survive courier post etc,
CDs are so cheap that I can't see how a HD ( life a few years if lucky) can compare.
2) Do I really have to save as TIFFs? Can I get away with squishing the files as big JPEG's?
A good jpg is indistinguishable in print from the original file for all normal purposes. If you really care then jpg 2000 (if the library can take them) can be lossless & half the size of a tif.
