I use a digital camera and take all of my images in color. Now I have a

customer who wants several of them as black and white prints.

I have used the channel mixer to create a nice looking black and white
image on my monitor. The file is still in the rgb mode. Use an Epson
1200 with normal color inks to make prints. If I print in black only,
the images don't look very good because there are only 256 levels of
gray - not enough.

If I print in color, I get a color caste. Have tried several ways to
change the color caste but nothing is working very well. I know that I
will never get a print which is completely free of any color caste and
am willing to accept a slight cast.

Would appreciate any suggestions as to the best way make adjustments.
Thanks.

Ed
