Surpised this is not in the archives as it has indeed been discussed
frequently - there must surely ber something under 'X-rays'?

Anyhow widen the subject from just "US" to the fact that ALL CHECKED baggage
is liable to high dosage X-radiation at airports throughout the world.
Really anyone who packs film in their hold baggage is likely to be a very
unhappy bunny and one should never do it.

Full marks for Virgin Atlantic for giving a formal warning but just becasue
they only mention the US don't think it does not happen elsewhere: it does
and BAA have for some time acknowledged the fact that their hold baggage
X-ray machines can damage film.

Yet another reason for going digital!
