Many things that have been discussed on this list re: OS X, as being missing or
missed, are actually built-in to OS X, but "we" just haven't found them all
yet.  Might I recommend a book that paid for itself in the first 10 pages??
Rob Griffiths "Mac OS X Hints: Jaguar Edition", edited by David Pogue.  Not
only will you find existing answers to some of your "wish lists", but you'll
also discover some tricks for building your own solutions.  Amazon.com.
