Should be OK providing the copy is a 'clone' of the original, ie, a direct copy with everything where it should be. You don't say which OS you're using; if it's OS X, 'Carbon Copy Cloner' is the way to go. > If this is NOT possible, is it possible to copy system settings (such > us Network and Internet prefs, etc.). There are several files, but no 'mystery' ones :-) They're called things like 'TCP/IP prefs' and 'Internet prefs' etc. You can usually tell by the name if you want to save them, ie, if it's something that took a lot of setting up, save it. If it's something simple, less important. If you're in OS 9, they're mostly in the 'Preferences' folder. In OS X, they'll be in either System>Library>Preferences or User>Library>Preferences. Under OS 9, Internet Explorer bookmarks and history are in a folder called something like 'Microsoft User Data' which I think is in the Documents folder; you can do a search for it. -- best wishes Paul http://www.paulbradforth.com =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
