Might be a silly question. But why would you want to delete the folders in the first place? Do they take up that much room? I use Canon cameras, and must admit, I've deleted the folders in the past. So that if navigating manually to the images, its easier to find them. However, I've never formatted the cards from the computer and know that its highly recommended to only format in the camera itself. Presumably this is the same for Nikon's? Can you not do the same. Delete the folders, but format in Camera?
