I invested in a Canon 1Ds six weeks ago. 4000+ exposures later (equivalent film and processing cost - Provia 35mm +/- bracket - 2850.00 not including scans I'm delivering better quality images, that I control, far quicker than would be possible with a conventional process (my nearest lab is 25 miles away since my E6 processor died). Digital files fit with my clients workflow (one has their own D60) - faster visuals- faster end client approval. With 1Ds files it's possible to crop small areas successfully making images more flexible for the designer twist. Part of this business is giving clients what they want and better than they expect within all the creative/market pressures that we all are subject too. I recently won a commission of over 25 days work partly because of the flexibility shooting high quality digital gave me. Time/money/flexibility + quality ! At this rate I'll have paid for the 1Ds and three IS lenses in about 5 months just in money saved on film and processing and I'm not working for Fuji or my local lab. Plus the images I supply look better on screen and in print than any of the Rollei/Scneider/Provia-Velvia that I have shot over the last 12 years. The pursuit of quality is admirable. Buy the best that you cannot yet afford and see the difference. You'll wonder how you made a living without it. Don't forget we're in creative 'Business' . If you don't make a profit you go bankrupt, unless you have private means of course. Just my 2p Regards to all Andrew =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
