Having received my i1 Monitor bundle this week, I have been comparing it to
the Spectrolino / Spectroscan with Profilemaker 4.1

The product and packaging are worth the money in itself... very slick box,
nice looking product and a CD. The manual (if you can call it that) gives
you enough to get you started.

Software installation is straight forward and the beauty of the i1 display
is the single USB connection, making the Spectrolino hook up look mad.

I have profiled and compared the following monitors with a spectrolino /
PM4.1 profile- all on Mac's.

1. G4 500 Tower (os 9.2)+ Lacie 22b
2. iBook G3 (os X 10.2.6) - LCD
3. G4 Titanium 500 (os 9.2) - LCD

All of the monitors were successfully profiled and profiles generated and
confirmed by the software.

The Lacie / G4 tower combo faired the best, producing similar results to the
spectrolino / PM4.1

The G4 Powerbook and G3 iBook however produced very magenta profiles.

Anyone with any experience of the i1 monitor bundle care to help / comment?

Also, apart from the Neil Barstow verification print for comparison (this is
too subjective), are there any numeric / empirical methods for validating a
monitor profile?

Many thanks,

Mike
