Its normal good practice to always turn on SCSI devices before the computer and to turn them off last.
Hi Richard. I realise that but under OS9 I could happily switch my Microtek on and off at will with no problems at all. It was and is still on a scsi card all to itself which was necessary under 9 certainly but may not be on X. It didn't like being in a chain. I think under X once the computer has seen it I can then switch it on and off at will. My ancient scsi external hard drive however does need the first on last off treatment!
