Hi I've not noticed a lot of difference - I experimented with this a while ago and didn't find much to choose. After looking into it further, I decided that for black and white, the best colour space to start in was one with the same gamma as the greygamma2.2 space I used for some of my b/w editing - but that would include my most likely sources anyway (A98 or sRGB). I notice that Colourmatch is a 1.8 space, so conversions might show differences in greyscale results from that rather than the gamut?
Since I'm not going down the same printing route, I'd be interested to hear if this would apply in your case... A word from our gods of Colour perhaps :-)) :-)) I found the choice of colour to BW conversion method far outweighed any effects from the colour space, since I'd choose a particular method for the subject and effect desired. I've put together a collection of many different methods with examples at <http://northlight-images.co.uk/bwfromcol.html> (any feedback appreciated) My own choice would be not to do a thing to the image in ACR and do the b/w conversion in PS, since by desaturating in ACR you have already really decided to go one route, and just desaturating the image is (imho) rarely the best process. bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight Images http://northlight-images.co.uk Photography - Digital Imaging - Apple Mac Consultancy Tel +44 (0)116 291 9092 Mobile +44 (0)780 162 9397 =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
