Is there any way to make use of a camera profile when using the Adobe plugin? More to the point - is there anything (useful) to be gained from the profiles available?
Not as far as I can see. Someone mentioned that this facility was available in the CaptureOne (?) RAW convertor software.
I can't see how a generic camera profile would be any real use to anyone. I'd think the only profile of any use would be one where you shoot a target in a defined colour temperature and have the profiling software map that to subsequently reproduce the 'real' colours. This would then take into account any manufacturing variations in your particular chip (and maybe firmware?)
Someone will probably point out this is calibrating rather than profiling - one day I'll get to grips with the difference ;-)
