There's only a handful of recent G4 models that have ATA133 drive controllers. I don't recall which are which. There was a thread here not too long ago about this topic. ATA-133 is required to use drives over 128GB. You can add a PCI card with this controller.

I believe (but I'm not sure) you may also be able to partition the drive into two smaller partitions to have access to the full size of the drive.
