Emma,

It might be worth looking at the RS site at rswww.com. Click on the Cables and Connectors link: if you find it, then it will probably only cost three or four pounds. Then find a nice kind person who can de-solder the broken one and replace it with the new one. Actually, thinking about it, the old one might just be OK but the the solder joints may just need re-heating with fine-tipped soldering iron. The solder joints may have just been fractured by constant insertion and removal of the power lead just slightly at an angle instead of at 90 degrees to the socket. Easily done when in a hurry!

Hi all,
Just had a quote of 400 to repair a broken charger connection, apparently its joined to the motherboard-hence the price.
Crying shame to chuck the machine away and get a new one so any ideas for a cheaper repair?
Thanks,
Emma Peios
