Hi

Find a local computer enthusiast who is good with a soldering iron!

I say this after fixing a friend's Toshiba laptop with a similar connector
problem. The difficulty is that many laptops are really difficult to take
apart, and usually end up with a small pile of leftover bits when
reassembled. Fortunately in this case the problem was no more that a duff
connection, but if it had needed new parts or had broken during disassembly,
it would have been for the bin.

You might find someone in a local TV repair shop - best to look in untidy,
old fashioned looking shops - where the real tinkering skills still exist.

bye for now
