Hi List The toggle switch cover on the back of my D1 has fallen off and been lost. I rang my usual authorised Nikon repairer (London) who tell me that the part is freely available and costs about �8.00 but they won't sell me one cos Nikon won't allow them to distribute spares. I'll have to send it down to them and pay about �80.00 for the privilege of having a technician slip it on.
I resent doing this not only because the cost seems ridiculously high but also my camera will be out of action for about a week, which is survivable but will be a pain. My question is - does anyone have a D1 that is useless and they are breaking for spares? I'll gladly pay a bit more than the �8.00 for your trouble.If so please contact me off list Also if anyone knows a Nikon authorised repaired in Manchester or Newcastle, please could they let me know.
